Meatless Monday's


Eliminating meat from your diet has several benefits for both you and the environment. By encouraging a decrease in meat consumption, Meatless Monday's, a not for profit initiative has set out to improve the health of America. Some of the benefits include a reduced risk of heart disease, cancer, diabetes and obesity, as well as improved quality of life and longevity.   I highly recommend trying this once a week, you will discover how feasible it is to eliminate animal proteins from your diet for just a day and you will likely feel lighter and more energized.   There are a plethora of delicious alternatives to meat, including a ton of great suggestions on the Meatless Monday's website. 


The state of California recently joined the efforts of Meatless Monday's, Los Angles has stepped up and  is embracing the movement to better the health of both the planet and humanity.  The Golden State and their leaders are setting a great example that includes major health benefits for our nation, "we can reduce saturated fats and reduce the risk of heart disease by 19%.  While this is a symbolic gesture, it is asking people to think about the food choices they make. Eating less meat can reverse some of our nations most common illnesses."

Going meatless just once a week is worthwhile, but for the more ambitious a more frequent meatless diet is advantageous. One of my clients has been following a vegan diet for two months, she has lost weight and feels great!
