Overindulge Over Labor Day?


This past weekend was probably the perfect excuse to forget your healthy routines...Labor Day! Many of us fall victim to unhealthy snacks, skipping workouts and drinking lots of fattening beverages.  I caught up with Jade Alexis to figure out just how she was able to enjoy labor day and stay true to her mantra: Be fit. Have fun. Live fierce!

"Always remember moderation is key! and don't skip your workouts just because it is a holiday." Said Jade. She believes that we must always take care of our bodies from the inside out. "If you happen to indulge make sure the next day you workout and eat right, even if you have to detox that day."


The typical family during Labor Day may sit around chat, drink, eat or play board games.  But not Jade! "We rode bikes to the beach, played tag, went swimming, and I even learned a new kids game - toothpaste which involves a lot of running." Even after all the activity they ended the day with sprint races - Kids versus the adults.  This is a great way exercise with your family. But if you would rather get a traditional workout in and there is no gym that doesn't mean you cut out your exercise for that day.

"I always pack a jump rope and I usually pack a deck of cards also so that I can play a game that I created."  Now Jade leaves the cards at home.  Her card game; Jade of Spades has now become an App available on the Apple App store. "As long as I have my phone with me there is no excuse not to work out." 

Prepare ahead for the next holiday! Create a healthy and fun environment with good food and energetic games!  But most importantly, don't forget to take the time to take care of you.
