It is that time of year when the gym is packed and people keep asking me what my New Year's resolutions are. The New Year is a great time to evaluate your life, put things into perspective, plan for the future and set goals. Several years back I read an anonymous quote about goals; "Write it down. Written goals have a way of transforming wishes into wants; cant's into cans; dreams into plans; and plans into reality. Don't just think it- ink it!". Ever since I read this quote, I have taken the time to write my goals down - I write S.M.A.R.T goals, an acronym I learned while at University. S.M.A.R.T goals require your goals to be specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time sensitive. There is certainly a correlation between writing goals down and attainability, if you haven't already done so, write down your S.M.A.R.T goals for 2013. When 2014 roles around, I hope that by achieving your goals, you will have become a stronger, healthier person in mind body and spirit.
